Karsai Group's milestones

  • The predecessor of the Karsai Plastics Holding Plc. estabilished its first production site in a 50 m2 building, located in Székesfehérvár–Kisfalud. As a result of a year long market research the production of packaging materials for the pharmaceutical industry was identified as the main profile, becoming meanwhile the exclusive supplier of Pharmavit RT. To be able to flexibly respond to the needs from the market it became clear, that an independent mould shop and design capability must be developed.

  • The new 1800m2 production site was built in Seregélyes, enabling the company to continue the production in two separate plants.

  • In the Alba Industrial Zone a 10.000,- m2 complex was erected, which has been housing since then the office building, a production site, a mould shop and the design office.

  • The company became the majority shareholder in OVM Plc.. The progress, following the aquisition made it necessary to build a new 4200m2 production site by October 1998, which, during the next year was extended with a 2,100 m2 production hall first, then with a 1,000 m2 storage area in 2003. At the same time an important technological upgrading was launched, as an important element of which the aquisition of a 5 axle cutting machine, completing the vacuum forming procedures was realized.

  • The company bought up the plastics production plant of Schlumberger-Ganz Áramérőgyár located in Gödöllő. The production activities were transferred to the newly built 2,000m2 manufacturing site in Veresegyház in October. The main profile of the plant was the production of component parts for electric meters. Later this profile was replaced by the production of parts for power tools and of high precision components for consumer electronics industry .

  • The first cross-border Karsai production plant, the Karsai Hargita Plast Srl. was completed in Szentegyháza (Székely land) in January. The main activity of it consists of production of packaging materials for food , cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. In 2005 the company completed the construction of a new 3,500 m2 production and assembly site.

  • The parent company aquired the majority of the shares of the Budapest located Extruform Plastics Plc. Foil and sheet extrusion, production of advertisment boards, engineering plastics and of profile extruded products became the new fields of activities int he group.

  • The management system of the group was converted into a holding formation in January. Starting from that time, the Székesfehérvár plastics processing plant together with the mould shop and the design and development office was operated under the name of Karsai Alba Ltd.

  • In February the Holding became the majority shareholder in Kunplast Plc. Kiskunfélegyháza, where a two - year reconstruction programme started, following the aquisition act. As part of this programme modernization of the production site and the machinery took place as well. Basic activities included processing of thermoset and and thermoplastic material, extrusion mould production and assembly, mainly for automotive industry.

  • An independent division left the Extruform –Karsai Plc. via the involment of an American co-owner, under the name of NYPRO Engineering Plastics Processing Ltd. in March.

  • DexTool Ltd became specialized in production and repair of injection moulds. The specific machinery, professional skills and experience made the company suitable for production of big size moulds, used in the automotive and electronics industries

  • The second cross-border plant of the Karsai Group was Karsai Pannonia Ltd. , located in Szabadka. Following an extensive reconstruction of the facilities and modernization of the technology in use, the company launched production of foils for direct and processed use.

  • Karsai Alba Ltd. inaugurated a new 4,000 m2 production site in Körmend, from where they supply the Hungarian and Western European pharmaceuticals and cosmetics markets. The clean room technology within the group was intruduced first at this site.

  • The second production site of the Karsai Plast Ltd. was completed in Tiszaújváros as a green field investment. Its modern machinery, equipped with robots is unique. Among others there is one of the largest (4,000 T clamping force) injection moulding machines in Hungary and Central Europe, suitable for production of big size engineering plastic products.

  • The manufacturing plant, built in 1998 was purchased by Karsai Plastics Processing Holding Plc. from Foxconn Hungary Ltd. aquiring the ownership of it 100%. The 5,500 m2 building is equipped with a central raw material supply system and with robotized with ABB robots, spraying lines, suitable for painting precision plastic components in a clean room environment.

  • The site in Székesfehérvár has been expanded with a new 1,800 m2 production hall. Extuform –Karsai Plc. has moved its head office and production activities to this plant.

  • After the group aquired majority in Plastweld Ltd., the production activities of this company, as a member of the technical division, were moved to the Veresegyház production site.
